A week after the midterm elections, the political landscape is shifting toward preparations by those who will be running in the 2024 presidential election. President Joe Biden has said that he will be running for re-election in 2024. Former President Donald Trump announced that he will also be seeking the position. Other candidates are expected to announce their campaigns for the executive office in the coming weeks.
Others who have not yet made formal announcements but who are anticipated to participate in primaries include Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, and Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.
